Cyberpunk 2077 is on its way, according to CD Projekt Red. The developer made the announcement via Twitter, saying that Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t anywhere near being over.
CDPR VIA TWITTER:
“We decided to develop one major expansion for Cyberpunk, which is going to take advantage of all the capabilities of the new-gen consoles. Having said that, we’re totally, fully committed to developing the Cyberpunk IP further, beyond this particular Cyberpunk expansion. We’ve put a lot of effort and time into building this franchise and we definitely want to continue to build upon what was built right now – with new stories, new experiences, new content, basically. Not just the video game format… In terms of expansions, there’s just going to be one major expansion. However, there’s going to be new stuff in the future.”
This confirmation will come as a relief to Cyberpunk fans, who have initially been let down by it’s poor release. Many say constant updates and bug fixes have come into play allowing for the game to finally feel complete.
It’s also a sign that CD Projekt Red is committed to Cyberpunk as a franchise, despite the mixed reception of Cyberpunk 2077.
While we don’t know much about Cyberpunk 2, or the major expansion for new gen consoles yet, we’re excited to see what CD Projekt Red has in store for us.
If you weren’t an original fan of the Cyberpunk series, take a step back for a moment and check out the anime adaptation on Netflix. It’s been a long time since an anime has really hooked me, and I have to say easily without a doubt a solid 8/10. I don’t like to give numbers and ratings, but this anime is a must watch and may even reignite your desire to check the game out again and get ready for this major upcoming expansion and to overall see how the game is doing since it’s original launch.
In conclusion, how do you feel about Cyberpunk in its current state, and are you interested in the possibility of this major expansion? Have you seen the anime yet?
